WIDOWED SUPPORT PROGRAM- YWP Edition
for young widowed parents of dependent-aged children
Session begins every
APRIL

SPACE IS LIMITED
April sessions are dedicated to the unique needs of young widowed parents of dependent-aged children.

Young widowed parents are in a category of their own. They often feel out of place in other groups for spouse/partner loss, as they are mostly comprised of older adults in different stages of life. Their circumstances are painfully isolating, and they experience a multitude of secondary losses which often include their social circles. The isolation can be devastating for them as well as their children, and significantly impacts parenting.

In addition to the goals listed below, this particular program addresses children's grief at different developmental stages and provides helpful parenting tips. Connecting with other young families in the community expands social supports for these parents as well as their children.

Please note that these sessions are for adults only. Understanding how challenging it can be to find childcare, it is a goal to someday provide this during sessions to make attending more feasible.
This program is an innovative, multifaceted approach that combines therapeutic strategies, peer support, and education to support the critical needs of the widowed population. Since self-care is essential while grieving, this theme is incorporated throughout the program. The group format provides an opportunity to share stories, exchange ideas, and build lasting connections with others who understand.
These ten-week sessions use ARROW Integrative Grief Coaching™ methods which offer a unique multifaceted approach to:
